Boulevards Median on Rathburn E

The contractor is currently addressing deficiencies that have been identified, which is a common occurrence at this stage in a large construction project, and is a part of the warranty period. 

• original plantings were overrun with weeds and have been torn out

• deficiencies were identified with the soil

• contractor is currently completing the soil remediation work and preparing the ground for planting.

• City Forestry will be undertaking the planting in the medians and boulevards once cooler temperatures set in (likely starting in September)

• the cement forms for the median planters have also been identified as a deficiency, as they were not constructed as planned.

• the concrete pad on the north side of Rathburn across from the park and between the exits/entrances to Longo’s are designated for bicycle parking and for the City’s micro-mobility devices. This is also a deficiency and will be made smaller.

Note: The City does not incur additional costs for the contractor to address deficiencies during the warranty period
