Community Engagement Meetings for Delta Bingo Relocation
New Information for proposed Bingo Hall........
After a poor attempt at reaching out to residents for their opinions on opening a Bingo Hall in Rockwood
Mall, Delta Bingo will be placing new ads in the Mississauga News with detailed information as to whom
you can send your comments. In addition, two public meetings will be held.
Before this application goes to City Council for a vote, we (RHA) requested a community meeting. The
first will be held online via WebEx on Tuesday February 7 th at 7:00 p.m. The link is listed below. A second
meeting will be held at the old Rona store on Thursday February 9 th at 7:00 p.m. This will be advertised
locally. The virtual meeting will not be advertised, so feel free to share the link with your neighbours. If
you plan to attend, please install the Webex App before joining. Of course, you can attend both
meetings.
As you will be informed, the relocation is intended to move the existing hall, with no alcohol or slot
machines, just Bingo. For this reason, after the second meeting, we will be sending out a new survey
with a simple yes or no response. The results will be sent to the above-mentioned addresses as our
community response. It is doubtful that there will be a meaningful accounting of the yes or no opinion
at either venue, so our survey will have impact. If the results are the same as the last survey, we will
request to be heard when the application is brought to council. The last survey was strongly against
(70%) allowing the hall in Rockwood Mall.
We urge you to attend one of these two meetings or both. Now that real email addresses have been
provided, you may send your comments to all parties. However, we suggest that you attend one of the
meetings prior to sending your response. Having already been made aware of our previous concerns,
we expect that Delta will address those concerns at both meetings.
