Construction on the BRT is now underway! Hydro Mississauga has started relocating utilities near Dixie Road and Eastgate Parkway in preparation for the general contract to commence on the BRT project, splitting it into three phases. The first phase extends from Rathburn Road immediately east of Hurontario Street along the HWY 403 and Eastgate Parkway corridor up to Fieldgate Drive. The second and third phases of construction will be tendered shortly with construction anticipated to commence in spring 2011.
Although some major BRT construction has started this
fall, only some minor work is scheduled in the vicinity of our
neighbourhood. A Notice of Construction Commencement
is currently being prepared and will be hand delivered to all
residents and businesses which are directly affected by the
proposed construction work. Major construction in our area is not
anticipated until the spring/summer of 2011.
