While the robins are just starting to appear, construction in the area is in full swing. Get ready for lots of road closures and lane restrictions as the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) swings into phase 2. While much of the system west of Fieldgate will open this year, the stop at Tahoe and points east are not scheduled to open until 2015. According to the BRT construction schedule we can look forward to intermittent daily lane closures and lane restrictions from Dixie to Eglinton along Eastgate and Fieldgate, and east on Eglinton until the fall of 2014. If you are wondering what is happening at the north end of Fieldgate, there is some sewer work going on to prepare for an underpass.
Once this construction is completed, the road is going to be rerouted back to its original location, slightly north of the current intersection at Eastgate.
