The Sustainable Neighbourhood Retrofit Action Plan (SNAP) Project, led by Toronto and Region Conservation (TRCA) in partnership with City of Mississauga and Region of Peel is an environmental improvement plan for existing neighbourhoods. Residents, businesses and other diverse stakeholders will come together to engage in the development of action-oriented plans to address climate change and other environmental issues.
RHA is excited to be a part of this plan. The boundaries of this project are Bloor St/Dixie Rd/Eastgate Parkway/Etobicoke Creek. In March, we attended a focus group with various community stakeholders to better understand how we could contribute to the SNAP. Sustainability themes include water and energy conservation, waste management, maintenance of parkland and trees, active transportation (cycling, transit) and health and well-being.
