In 2015 the townhouse complexes were exempted from the Cart program. In a complete about turn, the Region of Peel has now advised residents that they will be getting carts. Many owners are strongly opposed to the change in their waste management. Storage of the carts is the biggest issue. With little room in the garage, no side yards, and no back yard access, the only place left to store the containers would be at the front of the units. This last option would not only be unsightly but is in contravention of the Mississauga Property Standards By-law. In an attempt to demand Peel reverse this decision, the Condo Boards for each of the complexes, are looking for volunteers to circulate a petition opposing the introduction of the cart program.
